ARTIST STATEMENT:

Which facts matter? What should we do about them?

My art is subversive, cartoonish, and political. I am interested in the intersection of art and ideology; in what ways can materials challenge our world-views? My work asks the viewer moral questions, usually about political and social constructs, to question their adequacy. It is through the viewer’s ideology that meaning is created.

BIO:

Jackson Aldern was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. Since receiving his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in painting and graphic design from Colorado State University, he has been working as a designer and part-time artist. He is a proud member of a mixed family. Passions of Jackson’s include backpacking, reading graphic novels, and punk rock. His band, The Swashbuckling Doctors, is spending Summer 2022 writing new material.
